Armature: what holds a form up, and what no one sees.

For artists from the Mediterranean and Africa, we are that armature: we hold everything that is not artistic, so that they stay in front of the canvas. And we let time do the rest, because a work goes to someone who looks at it, and a market is built at the speed of a working life.

Let's talk

Start a collection

We always keep works within reach of a first purchase, because a collector starts somewhere, and so does an artist.

What we stand for

01

Necessity first

We choose artists who would keep painting or photographing if no one bought, and we stay with them over time, because an artist belongs to no one, not even to us.

02

The price next to the work

Every price is agreed with the artist and written next to the work, here as on Artsy, since a visible price settles the question before it is asked and gives back to the eye the place the question used to take.

03

A record anyone can check

For each artist, we keep an up-to-date, dated list of their exhibitions and of the collections they have entered, and we sign the texts we publish on their work, so that anyone can check for themselves the path already travelled.

04

From the studio to the wall

A work leaves the studio with its certificate and arrives, insured, at the home of the person who chose it, with nothing left for them to do but look at it.

Spotlight

What do we look at, when we look at a painting? What it does, or what it is worth?

We enter a painting through its colour, we stay for what it does to us, and we leave with something we did not have when we came in.

Join Armature

You work from a territory where the market does not yet have a seat, and your work already stands on its own. Show it to us: every application is looked at, and if we go on together, we will carry the rest, for as long as it takes, while you stay in the studio.
